How Do I Know When I’m Ovulating?
Ladies it’s time to get in touch with your bodies!
Whether you’re trying to get pregnant, thinking about it or just a regular gal working her way to the top - you should always track your cycle!
An app is a fine way to track but using the following methods increase the accuracy since they just use a estimated calculation based on your last period.
How do I track?? 📈📆
BBT Basal Body Temperature- your body’s temperature fluctuates throughout the cycle. It’s lower in the week before ovulation and spikes just after ovulation. Measure it first thing in the morning and see what happens! It’s better when tracked over a few months to see a trend.
Cervical mucus discharge - this is the most accurate predictor of peak fertility. Around ovulation it should be similar to egg white consistency. During the cycle it can range from creamy, scant, watery.
Ovulation kits - these make use of Urine LH strips. Luteinizing Hormone is a hormone that surges 2 days before ovulation to trigger release of the egg from the ovary. People often use the strips during the fertile window to track when exactly ovulation will occur. These are used more often by couples actively trying to conceive.
Becoming more in tune to your body will help you to to take control of your own health and understand changes in your mood or body throughout your cycle.
This is especially important if you have PCOS, endo, PMS or you’re trying to conceive.
